The Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) family consists of Houses, Family Rooms and Care Mobiles. There are 329 Ronald McDonald Houses (RMH) serving 33 countries and regions. Northeast Ohio is served by RMH of Akron, RMH of Cleveland and the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeastern Ohio (RMHC-NEO).
Our House is autonomous, raising its own funding. Through RMHC-NEO the local McDonald’s Owner/Operators provide approximately 3-4% of our annual operating budget. The remaining expenses are covered with private donations, grants, and an endowment fund that has been managed by a Board of Trustees for the past 28 years. The assistance of volunteers and generous in-kind contributions also plays an important role in serving the daily needs of families that turn to RMH of Akron.
In addition to the funds that we receive through RMHC-NEO we have access to several Global Donors provided through RMHC. These donors provide all of the Houses in the United States with no-cost or low-cost goods. These donations are very important to the operation of our House and help us to keep our facilities well maintained and stocked.
